Buttermilk Pancakes




Looking out for some delicious homemade pancakes recipe for breakfast? These buttermilk pancakes are perfect! They are easy to prepare and delicious in taste. Make your breakfast special with these yummy and healthy pancakes.

These pancakes are very light. You can vary the sugar quantity as per your preference.


You will need, Ingredients:


• 3 eggs, yolks and whites separated
• 1& 2/3 cups buttermilk

• 2/3 cup sugar
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 & 1/2 cups flour
• 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted


Step 1:


Beat the yolks until pale and smooth. (Use electric beater for best results)

Beat in the buttermilk, sugar and the baking soda. Mix well.

Sift in the dry ingredients. (flour, baking powder and 
salt) Make sure the batter is smooth.


Step 2:

Add in the melted butter and mix well.

Beat the egg whites in another bowl until stiff.

Fold into the batter until no bits of white are visible.

Let batter stand about 20 minutes before making pancakes.


Step 3:

Make sure the non-stick pan or griddle is really hot.

Ladle batter onto non-stick pan or griddle; turn when bubbles form across the cakes and allow to turn lightly brown on the second side.

Note: Use butter or shortening to avoid burnt pancakes while using a non-stick pan.

Serve with warm maple syrup and sweet butter or chocolate sauce.
